  • Japan, October 11-18, 2026

Join me for my favorite country to visit, Japan! Japan is a wonderland of cultural experiences with a sense of reverence around every corner. Delicious food, natural hot springs, temples and nature are all part of the daily itinerary.

This 8-day retreat starts and ends in Tokyo, with a bilingual guide/retreat coordinator throughout.

Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime experience: a 4-night retreat at a modern Zen Buddhist monastery in the nature-rich Izu Peninsula, followed by 3 nights at a mountain lodge in a tranquil ancient farming village nestled in Ohara, the outskirts of Kyoto, known for its peaceful temples and lush moss gardens. Located just 3.5 hours south of Tokyo, this UNESCO Global Geopark boasts dramatic views of rugged cliffs and unique stone formations created by the Mt. Fuji eruption 4000 years ago. The region is also surrounded by breathtaking beaches, dense forests, rivers, and cascading waterfalls, providing countless hiking opportunities.

The monastery in the Izu Peninsula will be reserved exclusively for us and includes natural hot spring baths, geothermal stone saunas, a well for fresh drinking water, and an organic vegetable garden.

We will then travel to Kyoto for 3 nights exploring the city and the surrounding area.

The mountain lodge in Ohara, Kyoto, is a family-owned, traditional Onsen (hot spring) Inn that offers a peaceful escape from the busy city, hot springs and indulges you with delicious regional cuisine.

Each day starts and ends with a yoga or meditation class. We immerse ourselves in Japan’s fascinating culture, traditions, and history, as well as in Japanese relaxation rituals such as forest bathing (Shinrin-yoku).

At the end of each day, unwind your mind and body in the therapeutic waters of onsen, a hot stone sauna, and delicious, wholesome meals made with local produce, including organic vegetables from the monastery's own garden.

Experience the magical harmony of Onsen and Yoga, feeling restored, refreshed, and renewed.

The ultimate reset and complete cleanse awaits you!
